Skipping or rushing prep leads to uneven surfaces, gaps, and failed installs. We handle everything from demo to leveling so your new floor goes in right the first time.
A proper subfloor is the foundation of every lasting installation. We take prep seriously so your new floor performs for years, not months.
Full demolition of existing carpet, tile, hardwood, or vinyl. We remove, bag, and haul away all old flooring materials.
Old adhesive left on concrete can ruin a new installation. We grind or chemically treat the slab to get a clean, bondable surface.
High spots, ridges, and old adhesive are ground flat using professional concrete grinders. Required before most glue-down installations.
We apply self-leveling compound to correct low spots and uneven subfloors, ensuring a flat surface for any flooring type.
Even the best flooring will fail on a bad subfloor. Bubbles, peaks, and low spots cause flooring to flex, crack, and separate over time. Our prep crews use professional equipment to grind, level, and clean the slab before any material goes down — giving every installation the foundation it needs to last. We prep for all flooring types: LVP, rubber, turf, carpet, and tile.

Concrete Prep
Concrete Grinding
The most common cause of flooring failure isn't the material — it's the surface underneath. Uneven subfloors cause gaps and soft spots. Old adhesive prevents new flooring from bonding. Moisture in concrete causes bubbling, mold, and delamination. JW Flooring Solutions offers complete flooring demolition, removal, and subfloor preparation services to eliminate these problems before your new floor goes down.
We remove virtually any existing flooring type:
When old glue-down flooring is removed, adhesive residue always remains on the concrete. Even small amounts of old adhesive will prevent new flooring from bonding properly, create bubbles and lifting over time, and can affect the flatness of the surface. Our concrete grinding process removes adhesive, smooths high spots, and creates the proper surface profile for maximum adhesion on new installations.
Concrete slabs in older buildings are rarely perfectly flat. Low spots cause hollow sounds and flex under foot traffic. High spots create visible humps in the finished floor. We use self-leveling compound to fill low areas and grinding to address high spots — ensuring the finished surface meets the manufacturer's flatness tolerances before any new flooring goes down.
This step is especially critical for LVP, luxury vinyl tile, and carpet tile installations, where subfloor imperfections telegraph through to the finished surface.
